The boys from local Brisbane band, Machinery Hill, were looking to launch their debut Album and needed it to stand out from all the noise that is band branding.
Already using a green pyramid as the basis for their branding, I just took it a step further into lush detail – grungy metallic surfaces and a deep ambitious colour palette. The concept is really a metaphor for the band’s goals – a large hard-to-not-notice force standing out from the background.
As you enter the ‘Machinery Hill’, the inside album art reflects this – it’s plastered with engine parts, metal gears, conveyor belts and shiny things.
The printing was superb and the foil effects on the cover as well as the CD disc add the extra flourishes that take this band from just a Demo CD from a local band with lots of potential to a fine album from a real recording group.
